The Grass Valley™ HDSPARK™ supports video professionals who are using tapeless acquisition and want to use affordable HDMI monitors to preview full-resolution projects in real time. The HDSPARK platform is available in three different configurations: one with a complete copy of our EDIUS® 5 software, one with an EDIUS 5 software upgrade for EDIUS 4 users, and a standalone version with only the HDSPARK board.

Minimum System Requirements

• Intel or AMD CPU with a 3 GHz processor speed or faster (multiple CPUs and/or multi-core CPUs are recommended). SSE2 and SSE3 instruction set supported
• 1 GB RAM (2 GB or more recommended)
• One free PCI Express x1 bus slot
• 800 MB or more space required for software installation
• Drive with ATA100/7,200 rpm or faster capable of sustaining at least 20 MB/s data transfer:
  • Available hard disk space should be twice the size of the file to be edited
  • A RAID stripe set of two or more hard disk drives is required for multiple HD stream output
• A graphics card with at least 256 MB of graphics memory (512 MB recommended) with support for Direct3D 9.0c or later, and PixelShader Model 3.0 or later is required (PixelShader Model 4.0 or later recommended)*

Also included are the plug-ins, applications, and sample material (valued at over $1,000) which come with the EDIUS software. The only application that is not included is TitleMotion Pro, which is available separately.
• HDSPARK with EDIUS upgrade: This model includes an upgrade copy of EDIUS nonlinear editing software. This version is ideal for current users of EDIUS 4.x. Also included are the plug-ins, applications, and sample material (valued at over $1,000) which come with the EDIUS software. The only application that is not included is TitleMotion Pro, which is available separately.
• HDSPARK standalone: This model features only the HDSPARK board without our EDIUS nonlinear editing software. This version is ideal for current users of EDIUS 5.x.
